The Presentation Board
Assembly has contributed in agency Yucolab's project for Cartier's interactive showroom opened in K11 Musea. We were responsible for thinking interactive UI/UX for the user journey happens in the showroom. We studied through Cartier's identity and inspired a vintage and slightly magical approach to the journey and the concept was welcomed by Cartier with satisfaction.
Part 1 - Interactive Story Book
There will show a CG movie describing the origin story of Cartier's signature panther elements. However, requested by Cartier, they want user to have immersed experience and be able to interactive with the movie. Inspired by gaming expereince on Nintendo's devices, Assembly presented a solution.
There will have a tablet for user as an interactive portal. From time to time the story could stop at critical moment and ask user to perform a simple task on the tablet in order to continue the story, which we shall name it a term like "magic-moment"'. For example, one critical scene is about the female protagonist got a necklace from her lover which inspired her whole life. At that moment the tablet will be turned to a book-like jewelry box with the middle made as hollow, containing the necklace glooming and asks for user to touch it.
The UI design of using a real book with realistic object displaying inside can create an immersed expereince for user because it resembles the 19th century, when the story was happening. The idea succefully appealed client.
Part 2 - Timeline Museum
Cartier would like to have a walkthrough with visitor to learn about their grand history. They would like a video to showcase a vast amount of unforgettable products invented in the past. To add interative element into it, Assembly present the idea of flying through a time tunnel with heroic products passing by. Nostagic cogs will show up in the book (the tablet). Vistor can turn the cogs to control the back and forth in the time tunnel.
Part 3 - The Catalog
Cartier requested for a catelog section to showcase information of their latest product. Client at first was presented with a contemporary eShop style app layout but it did not satisfy Cartier. We tried to think out of the box and suggested a more brave idea. To be consistent with the immersed experience, we presented a realistic magical forest and also an elegant museum. In which, the products are well placed in the scenario and waiting user to explore. The exploration method utlizes the book (the tablet), in which user shall find a navigation tool, perhaps a glass ball or maybe a compass, to navigate the virtual enviroment in similar way of a panorama.
The idea was successful. Assembly was then also responsible for the artwork production of the background environment.
